Experimentation

Experimentation

Experimentation with ideas was what got the team on track at the Devils Invent Hackathon. It was essential to consider and simulate everyone’s ideas before we fixated on a gun-shaped gaming controller. “Experimentation is a crucial mechanism for driving breakthroughs in any organization”, says Peter Diamandis from Huffpost.

Principle 1: Any experiment where you already know the outcome is a BAD experiment. Innovation is dynamic, Rendering Bullets constantly improved on design throughout the initial prototyping process and will only keep an image of the finished product in the later design processes.

Principle 2: Don’t Be a Bottleneck! The Team proactively works towards the completion of the goal. Even at the Devils invent event, our team finished our prototype first. Efficiency is key to a team’s success. Our team is always upfront with each other. Improving ourselves while improving the people we work with is the best part about working in a team.

Principle 3: Secrecy The idea of maintaining product secrecy in the design thinking process to reduce pressure on the team and allow for development in a stress-free environment is refreshing and something that doesn’t normally cross the mind. Certainly not something that our team considered. Wouldn’t affect us since we have an excellent support system of mentors, colleagues.

Principle 4: Don’t Worry about Success — Worry about Progress & Learning Everyday presents a learning opportunity while working on the project or with areas related to the project. The team is constantly stressing on achieving short term goals while focusing on long term ambitions and what the definition of success is for our product.
