MVP Examples

The Devils Invent: Fantasy and Fiction Event not only eliminated financial hurdles when designing the USB, but also provided a platform to gain access to more funding and compete with other ventures affiliated with the university. The minimum viable product was conceptualized and created in a matter of less than 48 hours.

Dropbox’s idea of creating an explainer video works for their concept of being a cloud service since they’re reaching maximum customers on a platform that their product is designed for. This would not work for the USB since gaming controllers are conventionally not advertised online and never in videos, unless it’s a company like Microsoft or Sony presenting a new iteration of a old controller.

Web design is lengthy and the founders are currently busy juggling a venture, multiple classes, and many other extracurriculars. A temporary website supports the USB and details all its information, while maintaining team blog posts. Website activity tools will be considered when the team is ready to move onto a permanent website.

A manual list is pretty much how the team coordinates all of its activities, what with prototyping, completing assignments, engaging in design ideas, coming up with different viable solutions, meetings, etc.

One of Rendering Bullets’ predecessors in the gaming gun controller industry, Delta Six, ran a highly effective kickstarter campaign and raised over $200,000. It was also overwhelmed by all these orders and eventually had to shut down. The team is focusing on raising money through the Venture Devils program and will also be receiving $1000 from the eSeed grant.

Coming up with a MVP strategy is tricky, because these plans can last for a day, week, month, or year. The team has already employed some plans and is looking forward to more as the semester progresses.
